Women-owned businesses often face challenges accessing markets due to limited access to business networks and the prevalence of gender stereotypes that portray women as incapable of running successful businesses. In light of this, the examination of the relationship between social entrepreneurial traits and the performance of women-owned SMEs in Nigeria is necessary. The study specifically examined the effect of entrepreneurial innovativeness on performance (profitability) of SMEs run by Women in Ibadan, Oyo State. The study also evaluated the role of entrepreneurial risk-taking abilities on performance (profitability) of SMEs run by Women in Ibadan, Oyo State. Descriptive cross-sectional research design was employed to evaluate the relationship between the variables. The study employed frequency percentage counts and inferential statistics to analyse the instrument of the study. As such, the study revealed that there was a negative and not significant relationship between entrepreneurial innovativeness and profitability of SMEs run by Women in Ibadan, Oyo State (r = .006, N= 297, p>.05). On the contrary, the study shows that there was a positive significant relationship between entrepreneurial risk-taking and revenue of SMEs run by Women in Oyo State (r = .341, N= 297, p <.05). Hence, adoption of technology, conduction of risk assessment and feasibility study, update skills and constant synergy between entrepreneurs in same line of business was recommended.

The paper delves into the exploration of factors pertinent to reward management and its impact on employee morale within the context of the Federal College of Agriculture Moor Plantation, Ibadan. Adopting a descriptive survey design, the study focused on a population comprising 1,423 staff members, with a sample size of 312 determined through a sampling size determination formula. Data collection employed a questionnaire as the primary instrument. The analysis utilized descriptive statistics, including frequency counts, simple percentages, mean, and standard deviation. Additionally, inferential statistics, specifically multiple regression analysis, were applied to test hypotheses at a significance level of 0.05. The findings uncovered that reward management significantly influenced employee morale in the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, and also had an impact on employee morales. The results further revealed a significant influence of reward management on employee morale, substantiated by statistical analysis (F(1, 30) = 4.409; p < 0.05). The abstract concludes that rewards serve as motivational tools, enhancing employee performance, provided the adopted strategies align with employees' needs. The recommendation emphasizes the importance for the management of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan to engage their staff with adequate motivation to foster enhanced productivity.

This study investigated the effect of leadership styles on organizational performance of SMEs in Lagos State using a contingency approach. The descriptive survey method was used in estimating the model and the primary data were generated with aid of distributed questionnaire to two hundred respondents which were selected through judgemental sampling procedure. From the mean, standard deviation analysis and paired sample test, the result indicated a relationship between autocratic, participative, transactional and transformative leadership styles and performance of organisations. The recommendation of the study was that since compensation rewards are stimulating factors that help to boost the organizational performance, effective reward systems, recognition and managerial supervision should be implemented to improve employee’s performance. Managers were equally advised not to restrict themselves to a style of leadership but to adopt a mixture of various leadership styles due to different environmental factors and situations in which they find themselves.

The Nigerian business environment has evolved through several changes, especially in recent times; and these have necessitated reinventing plans for a more optimum performance. These fundamental changes range from political, economic, and socio-cultural, to technological variables; and have had tremendous influence on the growth, size and complexity of business organizations and this situation has drastically altered how business executives can effectively manage their operations in most modern organizations. This study therefore investigated the nexus between strategic planning and financial performance of manufacturing industries in Lagos Nigeria. This study adopted a descriptive survey design. The result of the analysis indicated a strong positive relationship between the variables (r=.791, p>.05); thus, a very strong positive relationship exists between planning techniques and market share. Also, the result of hypothesis two shows the result of the bi variate Pearson’s correlation analysis between strategic control and sales volume. This result indicates a very strong positive relationship between the variables (r= .762, p>.05); thus, the strength of the relationship between strategic control and sales volume is very strong. The study recommended that the management of NBC limited and SBC limited should ensure that the resources of the organizations are adequately and uniformly allocated across all functional areas in the organization and monitor each functional area for effective utilization of the allocated resources. Also, the managers in the organizations should ensure that effective collaboration is achieved between all the functional areas in the organization to achieve improved productivity.

The construction industry plays an important role in enhancing the economic performance and the national welfare of a country by transforming various resources to construct economic and social facilities. The efficiency of middle-skilled construction workers in Nigeria poses a significant challenge to the construction industry, hindering progress and development. This study examined the effect of behavioural pattern on efficiency of middle-skilled construction workers in selected LGAs in Lagos State. The study adopted the cross sectional survey design. The population consists of 7, 490 middle skilled construction workers in Lagos. The Taro Yamane formula was used to determine a sample size of 451 respondents for the study across 5 local governments in Lagos. namely Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Eti Osa, Surulere and Apapa took part in this study. The study made use of one instrument which was a self-developed questionnaire and validated through pilot study. Descriptive and Inferential Statistics was used to analyze the data collected. The study found that Behavioural pattern has positive and significant effect on efficiency (R 2 = 0.159, F(1,398)= 124.819, p= 0.000). Work ethics has positive and significant effect on efficiency (R 2 = 0.128, F(1,398)= 58.553, p= 0.000). Sense of responsibility has positive and significant effect on efficiency (R 2 = 0.079, F(1,398)= 34.062, p= 0.000). Discipline has positive and significant effect on efficiency (R 2 = 0.137, F(1,398)= 63.209, p= 0.000). The study concluded that the behavioural patterns played an important role in the efficiency of middle skilled construction workers in Lagos State. The study recommend that construction companies should learn to incorporate organisational culture into their activities as this will help their workers align the needed behavioural patterns into their activities which will enhance that efficiency at work.
