The sustainability of the SMEs in the tourism sector is central to the realisation of sustainable development goals and this cannot be attained without proper guidance on how to properly implement GHRM practices at work and among employees. On this note, this study examined the implementation of green HRM towards sustainability of SME’S in the tourism industry: A qualitative approach. The study was centered on examining the effect of green organisational culture on economic sustainability among SMEs in the tourism sector; investigating the relationship between green safety and health on environmental sustainability among SMEs in the tourism sector; and finding out the relationship between green job analysis and social sustainability among SMEs in the tourism sector. Findings revealed that the constructs reviewed from the GHRM and sustainability realms have a positive and significant relationship. The study concluded that GHRM is an effective sustainability mechanism that should be given adequate priority by organisations. Therefore, it was recommended that management should develop the habit of enforcing an enabling framework for bolstering sustainability through green culture, an effective green health and safety system coupled with a well-grounded policy on green job analysis.
